This month we had a customer come in with a tough task, they’d been thinking of changing his car but could not bring himself to sell his current car, so they wanted to change his E92 325i enough to keep them interested for another few years. Having owned an E46 325i as well, their love of the 6 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine BMW produces is apparent.
The customer had 2 main specifications, they had to have the Oxigen Oxrock Candy Orange wheels and the car had to receive a healthy dose of carbon fibre. We will start with the eye catching wheels, as mentioned they are Oxigen Oxrock 19” wheels with the wider rears, so 8.5/9.5” staggered widths finished in Candy Orange which is a translucent finish over a diamond cut face. To satisfy their carbon requirement, at the front end you have the Mstyle carbon fibre kidney grills, along with the Mstyle carbon fibre full front splitter. The rear of the vehicle received Mstyle carbon fibre boot lip spoiler and a Mstyle carbon fibre performance rear diffuser, with a quad exhaust to really add to the aggression.
We did not stop there, we also did some bodywork to the bonnet & rear bumper as they had some deep scratches & scuffs, this was done in house by our body shop team and this vehicle like all others we undertake bodywork on have a 6 year guarantee on the repair. We could not leave the engine alone either, using our tuning partner Mosselman the car was graced with a remap, in conjunction with a K&N panel filter. Some of you will know that a remap on an N/A engine will not give massive gains, however it can improve drivability noticeably as the car will pull harder for longer whilst slightly improving fuel consumption. When we did the quad exhaust rear section we put in one of our performance rear silencers which opened up the sound of that beautiful 6 cylinder with-out cabin drone or drawing too much attention.
We was set a task, we had a fairly lenient brief other than the wheels which was going to be the main focal point as per the customer’s request and at the end of the week when the customer came to collect they was ecstatic at the new look and lease of life their vehicle had been given. Nothing we enjoy more than creating a car that surpasses someone’s expectations and we are extremely proud to admit it is a regular occurrence.
