As soon as BMW M Division announced the release of the G83 M4, we were all over it like a wet flannel. With many people already in the aftermarket styling industry having G80 M3’s it made sense to opt for something different than the rest. Why saturate the market with hundreds of G80’s when the convertible model is just as sought after and bound to be just as popular.

With the car ordered and many option boxes ticked it was a waiting game. BMW were not expecting to deliver these to customers until November 2021 with all being well and the chip shortage not delaying the delivery.

We got lucky. November rolled around and before we knew it, we had our new G83 M4 demo car. The questions we were asking was, what modification was first? Do we lower it? Change the wheels? Change the exhaust? Tint the windows? Slap a whole load of carbon on it? Where do we start? There is so much potential with these cars that the biggest headache is knowing what to do first.

No fret, we had it covered. A set of custom one-off BC Forged alloys were ordered. 20’’ x 10J and 21’’x 12J was the preferred size. There is a method to this. We lowered the car on H&R springs which dropped it perfectly. The fitment is on point. Not too low that you can't get over speed humps and not so high it looks like you’re about to enter the Baja 1000.

Our good friends over at CT Carbon hooked us up with a full stainless exhaust system for the car which honestly sounds really good. (They do also have a Titanium system that you can also buy if you’re looking for something a little bit more special than just stainless.)

The system itself is not too loud and not too quiet, just the right amount to give the car that little bit of extra grunt. Unfortunately, newer cars are now fitted with a whole bunch of particulate filters that keep them in line with the emission standards but unfortunately make them incredibly quiet. If you’re a proper petrol head like me then the sound of the car's exhaust note is extremely important to the driving experience.

Not only did they supply us with the exhaust but their new G83 carbon fibre rear diffuser to compliment the exhaust.

There are more upgrades planned and on the way which we will keep tabs on as the build progresses.
