March, a great month for a variety of reasons. We wave goodbye to the shorter nights and say hello to an extra hour of daylight. Winter weather is on the backfoot making way for drier days meaning the perfect conditions for evening drives and late night hoons. No more slip and much much more grip, unless of course that is what you are into.

Slipping and gripping is something our most recent completion struggles with even in the most optimum of conditions. Yes that’s right we built a monster and I in no means exaggerate when I say this. From the sound to performance to stopping power, no stone has been left unturned and that’s the way we like to do things. Properly.

We were approached to fit an ESS Supercharger to a 2007 E60 M5. I shouldn’t need to elaborate but for anyone who isn’t familiar with this model of M5, BMW in their infinite wisdom decided that on this occasion they would dump a V10 engine into this model, straying away from the previous generations V8 engines. They have in the past used high performance engines with the V12 (S70) engine found in the 850i and more famously the Mclaren F1 and F1 GTR.

We supplied and fitted a whole plethora of parts for this car, the most exciting was the custom stainless exhaust system that was custom fabricated. At the top end we supplied and fitted Supersprint headers, working our way down we deleted those nasty secondary cats and finished off  by an Eisenmann rear race section from the lads down in Germany.

The ability to unlock the full V10 sound is a bold move but one that offers the best reward (It's loud). I briefly touched on the supercharger that we fitted. This is the first one that we have fitted here. With all engine modifications we always advise to replace key engine components such as the rod bearings. This future proofs the engine and eliminates any potential reliability issues further down the line. Pushing 670BHP is a substantial amount of power and much more than intended when it left the factory. I wasn’t joking when I said this car was a monster.

As with most cars we supercharge we always recommend that the customer looks into upgrading their brakes. It's all well and good having such power but if you can't stop on a dime then you’re at risk of sacrificing your safety or more importantly hurting the car. Stopping power is not something to be overlooked in a situation such as this. AP supplied the 8 piston brake callipers (6 pot on the rear ) you now see filling the wheels.

All performance modifications aside, we did also change some interior and exterior bits and pieces. We supplied and fitted, gloss black front splitter, carbon roof spoiler, painted boot spoiler, new gloss black kidney grilles and even replaced the BMW badges as the OEM ones were incredibly faded.

Inside the cabin we supplied and fitted a brand-new carbon/perforated leather multi-function flat bottom steering wheel and hydro-dipped the interior trim to the carbon fibre.

As far as vehicles we have completed go, this is the wildest one to date and we’re especially honoured to have been fortunate enough to work on it.
